CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING (Weighting 34%)
Engineering Design & Analysis
- Develop civil and structural engineering designs for compression and process systems, considering factors such as load-bearing capacity, stability, and environmental conditions.
- Conduct structural analyses, S-Frame analysis and seismic assessments, to ensure compliance with safety and performance requirements.
- Develop and produce reports for skidded packages, including lifting analysis/diagrams and foundation loads.
- Evaluate pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, structures, concrete, and piling foundations for various equipment.
- Develop, review, and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation related to civil and structural components.
Technical Oversight
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to queries and reviewing construction drawings.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their technical inquiries, concerns, and project requirements.
Team Mentorship
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, offering technical support and fostering their professional development.
- Lead by example, promoting a collaborative and innovative work culture within the engineering team.
PROJECT SUPPORT (Weighting 33%)
Project Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables related to civil and structural engineering aspects.
- Develop detailed engineering plans and specifications for civil and structural components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
Project Coordination
- Manage civil and structural engineering projects from initiation to completion, adhering to project schedules and budgets.
- Oversee and coordinate engineering activities with internal teams and external stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and consultants.
- Monitor progress and resolve project-related challenges to achieve successful project delivery.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and challenges related to civil and structural engineering aspects of the project.
- Address and resolve any construction or design issues that may arise during the project.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure safety measures are integrated into the design and construction phases.
Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to comprehend project requirements and expectations.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports on engineering activities and project milestones.
QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE (Weighting 33%)
Health & Safety Compliance
- Conduct inspections and site visits to verify construction quality and adherence to design plans.
- Prioritize safety in all engineering designs and construction practices, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all civil and structural designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular reviews and inspections to identify and address potential design issues or deviations.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in designing, engineering, and fabricating gas processing facilities.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) licensure or equivalent certification.
- Extensive experience in civil and structural engineering, preferably in the oil and gas, compression, and gas processing industry.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools for design and analysis (e.g., S-Frame).
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards related to civil and structural engineering (e.g., NBC, ABC, CSA S16-01, CSA S16-09, PIP).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
