ABOUT US:
BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Shift Details: 5:50 a.m. - 4:20 p.m.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
PIPE FABRICATION & ASSEMBLY (Weighting 70%)
Blueprint Reading & Drawing Interpretations
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, isometric drawings, and project specifications.
- Plan and lay out piping systems based on provided designs and guidelines.
- Identify efficient ways to lay pipes, taking into account limited space and safety needs
Material Handling & Inventory
- Choose and request the materials needed for each project, making sure they're correct and meet the project's specifications.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials to control inventory.
- Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials properly following established procedures.
Pipe Fabrication & Installation
- Utilize various tools to measure, cut, and thread pipes accurately.
- Follow blueprints and specifications to assemble and install piping systems.
- Fabricate spools to precise isometric drawings and rig them using cranes.
- Modify pipe supports for proper alignment and stability.
- Install pipes, pumps, valves, and gauges ensuring correct fit and alignment.
Welding & Joining Techniques:
- Perform various welding techniques (e.g., alignment and tack welding of spools and spool sections) to connect pipes and components securely and in compliance with welding codes.
- Ensure all welded joints are of high quality and pass necessary inspections
COMPLIANCE (Weighting 15%)
System Inspection & Quality Control
- Regularly inspect piping systems for leaks, damages, and issues.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and component replacements to prevent breakdowns.
- Conduct pressure and leak tests, and verify pipe dimensions to ensure system integrity.
- Ensure piping systems meet quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain records of materials and work performed for quality assurance.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Follow safety rules, use PPE, and follow lockout/tagout procedures to keep the work environment safe.
- Obey codes and regulations for electrical work.
- Assess risks and equipment, and reduce hazards in instrumentation work.
- Keep up-to-date with safety guidelines and industry practices for ongoing compliance.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT (Weighting 15%)
Collaboration & Communication
- Work with diverse teams to communicate and coordinate pipefitting tasks effectively.
- Facilitate smooth workflow between departments and resolve technical issues.
- Offer technical support and guidance to colleagues when needed.
Training & Mentorship
- Share knowledge and guide junior technicians or apprentices within pipefitting and assembly.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies in pipefitting and assembly.
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in work processes and procedures.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Journeyman Pipefitter certification or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a pipefitter, demonstrating proficiency in pipe installation and fabrication techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing and piping systems, materials, and building codes.
- Familiarity with various pipe materials, such as steel, copper, plastic, and PVC.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex piping issues.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to pipefitting work.
- Good physical condition and stamina to perform manual labor and work in various conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
