ABOUT US:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The successful candidate will work with the Production Leadership Team, Drafting/Engineering, and shop floor employees to coordinate efforts to meet production schedules, quality, and safety requirements. Shift 5:50-4:20 (4 days/week,10 hours/day). Overtime is as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered as a Machining Apprentice or in the Machinist pre-employment program
- CNC and Manual machining aptitude Is an asset
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in math
- Basic computer skills
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
Machine Setup & Operation
- Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines.
- Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
- Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
Quality Control
- Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Monitors production, adjusts feed, and other settings as necessary.
- Checks output for quality assurance and documents defects.
Maintenance
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Promotes and enforces a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with safety policies and conducting regular briefings.
Documentation
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Ensures accurate documentation of production, quality, and safety records.
